Market restaurant is the first Parisian venture of world renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. This centrally located restaurant was designed by Christian Liaigre, famous minimalist interior designer. Liaigre uses preferably basic materials such as stone and wood to give an earthy feel to the venue. Huge bay windows open out into an interior courtyard, ethnic masks and various items from Africa and Polynesia decorate the interior. At Market, a raw bar at the restaurant entrance offers oysters, fish carpaccios and many other uncooked delicacies. The banquettes in beige leather surround beautifully laid tables. The terrace is delightful for both lunch and dinner and VIPs are attracted by the chef's table hidden near the kitchens. The food is a fusion of French, Italian and Asian producing mouth-watering and beautifully presented dishes.
